What this feature does

Mallello uses direct charges on connected vendor accounts so the vendor receives sale proceeds, Mallello receives an application fee, and payment liability stays aligned with the seller.

This guide describes the behavior implemented by Mallello, the people allowed to use it, and the operational checks that keep it dependable.

Detailed workflow

  1. An approved vendor creates or connects a Standard Stripe account through hosted onboarding.
  2. A customer's checkout is created on that connected account.
  3. Stripe allocates the direct charge to the vendor account and allocates the application fee to Mallello.
  4. Stripe controls balance availability and the vendor's payout schedule.
  5. Refunds and disputes are processed in the context of the vendor's connected account.

Rules and permissions

  • Mallello cannot guarantee Stripe payout timing; availability depends on country, risk, payment method, and account history.
  • A successful charge is not the same as a completed bank payout.
  • The application fee is configured in code per transaction; no separate Stripe product is needed for marketplace fees.
  • Vendors must complete identity, business, bank, and capability requirements directly with Stripe.

Failure handling and edge cases

  • Negative connected balances can be collected or offset by Stripe according to the account agreement.
  • A platform can still face contractual, regulatory, or reputational exposure; architecture alone is not legal immunity.
  • Operators reconcile application fees, refunds, disputes, and payouts in both Mallello and Stripe.
