Vendor balances and payouts
Stripe, not Mallello, determines when direct-charge funds become available and when a connected vendor account pays them out to its bank.
What this feature does
Stripe, not Mallello, determines when direct-charge funds become available and when a connected vendor account pays them out to its bank.
This guide describes the behavior implemented by Mallello, the people allowed to use it, and the operational checks that keep it dependable.
Detailed workflow
- A customer payment first enters the connected Stripe balance.
- Stripe deducts its processing costs and accounts for the platform application fee.
- Pending funds become available according to Stripe's risk and settlement schedule.
- The vendor reviews balances and payouts in the full Stripe Dashboard.
- Stripe sends payouts according to the connected account's supported schedule.
Rules and permissions
- Mallello does not manually send every vendor payout under the direct-charge design.
- Refunds and disputes can reduce or make the connected balance negative.
- Payout dates are estimates until Stripe marks the payout paid.
- The vendor owns bank-account maintenance in Stripe.
Failure handling and edge cases
- New accounts and high-risk transactions may have longer holds.
- A failed payout requires the vendor to correct bank or verification information with Stripe.
- Mallello support should use provider identifiers, never request full bank credentials.
