Following a listing

What this feature does

A listing follow subscribes an authenticated customer to applicable status and launch updates for one specific group buy.

This guide describes the behavior implemented by Mallello, the people allowed to use it, and the operational checks that keep it dependable.

Detailed workflow

1. Choose Follow or notification opt-in on the listing.
2. The server creates one relationship owned by the signed-in user.
3. Vendor status updates select eligible followers.
4. The notification outbox records and sends messages according to event and preference rules.
5. Unfollowing prevents future optional listing notifications.

Rules and permissions

• Notification consent and transactional order communication are separate.
• A listing follow does not automatically follow the vendor unless explicitly stated.
• Unsubscribe links are signed and scoped.
• Delivery failure does not delete the relationship.

Failure handling and edge cases

• Duplicate provider deliveries must not create duplicate relationship records.
• An unsubscribed address is excluded from marketing-class messages.
• Essential order notices may follow a different legal basis and preference path.
